Democratic Principles According to the Experts

Literally democracy comes from the Greek which demokratia who have understanding people's power. The word comes from two combined words namely demos meaning people and kratos meaning strength or power. According to Indonesian dictionary definition of democracy is a system of government that all the elements of people participated govern through representatives or can be said as a rule of the people. And can also be interpreted as an idea and the worldview that promotes and treatment and equality of rights and obligations of citizens.

And the principle is a principle rooted in truth become a staple or a base in thinking, acting and behaving, which can also be interpreted as a fundamental rules or provisions that are required to be executed and obeyed. It can be concluded that the principle of democracy is the principle or rule that basically should or must exist and be obeyed by countries that embrace democratic system of government.

Democracy

In principle, democracy is the basis for the establishment of a democratic country that adheres to the motto of government of the people, by the people and for the people. In an effort to maintain the integrity of the Republic who became a democratic system in Indonesia. The principles of democracy according to the views of experts, as summarized as follows:

1. Almadudi

As stated by Almadudi following democratic principles which later became known as "pillar" of democracy. Including the following:

Sovereignty of the people's hands;
Government based on the consent of the governed;
Majority rule;
Minority rights;
Human rights guarantees;
Elections are free, fair, and honest;
Equality before the law;
Due process of law;
Government restrictions are constitutional;

3. Hendra Nurtjahyo

Accountability,
responsive,
The competition is free and fair, and
Solidarity.
6. Zamroni

7. Franz Magnis Suseno

Franz Magnis Suseno (1997: 58) adds that in a democracy there are five main principles of the various characteristics and principles of democracy proposed by other experts. Here are:

State based on law,
The government is under the control of a real community,
Elections are held freely and fairly,
The decision was in the hands of the majority and
The guarantee of the position of citizens in the country to democratic rights.
It can be concluded that democracy teaches the principles which is very important in life. Good social life of the nation and the state, such as the following:

Equality in rights and obligations
There is a balance between the rights and obligations
Freedom of expression responsibly
Deliberation is made to reach an agreement.
Be a way for the realization of social justice.
Prioritizing national unity that has a sense of kinship.

Culture in the Principles of Democracy
Basically, democracy is a democracy led by the wisdom kebjaksanan in consultative representation. Democracy is the highest authority that is the people, the wisdom of wisdom is how reasonable and also a way of thinking and behavior used in maintaining the integrity of the Republic.
